The weather office, as reported by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said one or two spells of light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at many places on August 9, with brief intense showers possible at a few places. From August 9 to 11, a few spells of light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected at most places, with heavy to very heavy rainfall likely at a few districts of the Jammu division and brief intense heavy showers at a few places in the Kashmir division. The MeT has also forecast the possibility of light rain or thundershowers at many places between August 12 and 17, with brief intense showers possible at a few locations. It advised people to remain cautious as torrential rain and brief intense heavy showers could trigger flash floods and landslides at vulnerable places besides causing waterlogging in low-lying areas. The weather department has particularly flagged the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall and intense showers at a few districts during August 9-11—(KNO)
